FRAGMENT OF A GREEK TRAGEDY
by A. E. Housman
CHORUS: O suitably-attired-in-leather-boots
Head of a traveller, wherefore seeking whom
Whence by what way how purposed art thou come
To this well-nightingaled vicinity?
...
CHORUS: Go chase into the house a lucky foot.
And, O my son, be, on the one hand, good,
And do not, on the other hand, be bad;
For that is very much the safest plan.

You go to Twitter for something I posted in 2004, probably with you in the room? This one's always worth revisiting, though.

Oh Man, what troubles come
When the past we forget, whilst
Unknown the future must remain.
Those whose memory is weak
Like the taste of herring,
Ever shall they err, and, erring,
Justly be reviled.
Also, we've been at this a while, huh?
I had the same thought (at this a while, not the herring exactly).
