Stupid, stupid, toys.
Shield with sword blade, gauntlet, sword catchers, and lantern from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. This unusual Italian creation seeks to combine many offensive and defensive capabilities into one package. It dates to the first half of the 16th century and combine a shield with multiple blades and an armoured gauntlet.

C'mon, the wheellock-axe and -warhammer are great! They must feature in a movie, preferably kicking the ass of some loser with a shield/sword/gauntlet/lantern.

I liked the flintlock knife, fork, 'n spoon - they would add a certain something (the flash/smoke/sulfur of blackpowder, perhaps) to dinner table disagreements. One of my favorite 'slices, dices, makes julienne fries' bits of weaponry are the Parisian Apache knuck-knife-pistol combos...
An altogether great link - thanks!

A young man much given to duelling
With a gun-knife and -fork was found fooling.
Said he, "I can kill
Whilst eating my fill--
If the powder's kept dry from my drooling."

This piece was created for the maker's booth at the 1524 Verona International Arms Exhibition. Lucious "booth babes" in tightly laced bodices handed out brochures extolling the maker's complete line of martial products. Nothing has changed, except now there are airplanes.
